1. The Solid Waste Management Service has now been managed by Waste Management Companies under “The Suthra Punjab Program” lunched by Govt. of Punjab in December 2024.
2. Service & Asset Management Agreement has been signed between MC and (M/s Sandu Brothers Engineering Pvt. Ltd.) Waste Management Company 3. Waste collection, transportation and developing/ maintaining waste disposal sites has been outsourced through the waste management companies 4. The selected contractors are collecting waste from door to door (where possible), temporarily store and transporting it using appropriate plant & equipment and developing waste dumping site 5. Citizen’s complaints related with SWM are being handled by the Contractors through “Suthra Punjab App/ Complaint Management System (CMS)” developed by PITB and implemented by LG&CDD.
